Keeping Haiti in mind

The tragedy Haiti continues, perhaps worsens. It is neither pleasant to review nor to study. However, we have–each one of us–the power to assist the Haitian people with our hands, our heads, and our hearts.

Yesterday I suggested we act with donations or money or services (if feasible)–an offering of our handiwork,  whether it is texting the donation to the American Red Cross or writing and mailing the check to a validated charity organization (see below).

Today I suggest we keep Haiti and the strife experienced clearly in our minds. So much happens and happens so fast we can easily forget the chance to care, the need to care. Caring is from the heart, yet if our mind does not retain focus, the upfront caring can slip from our hearts.

May I recommend at least a few minutes each day in which we update our awareness of what is happening–prayerfully what progress is being made–for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

Here are three news sources of current information:

And these support organizations are all validated as reliable:

American Red Cross World Vision Save the Children CARE
