Three more ideas gathered from active Employee Engagement practitioners! These are also from conversations following my presentations at the THHHA (TORCH) and RBMA conferences earlier this month.
- I ask my highly engaged people what keeps them at it. Then I ask if either I might share their answers or ask them to share their answers with others. (C)
- We use teams and task forces more than most clinics. We find that there’s strong motivation to be involved when working with others. (O)
- We publish an internal newsletter every month. A month in advance I ask one of our people to write a 50-100 word piece about what they do. This can be a simple description, or something more lively. (C, O, R)
Remember that C = Communication, O = Opportunity, and R = Resources. The final letter in my C.O.R.E. of Engagement is just that, Engagement.
Look for managers’ tips tomorrow (Thursday) that feature their own Engagement!
