Your own engagement: make a note of it!

Two weeks ago, in the Top 10 Tips to Keep Yourself Engaged post, I suggested keeping a notebook handy all the time.

My preference is traditional, pen-and-paper notebooking. But quite a few friends and associates have commented that’s old school.

C.O.R.E. Works with Performance Management, Too

C.O.R.E. (Communication, Opportunity, Resources, Engagement) applies to more than Employee Engagement. Let me suggest four tactics, one for each C.O.R.E. component, that are likely to fit comfortably in your Performance Management process.

Communication.The objective is to stimulate a healthy procedure for sharing feedback with your people in a two-way, discussion manner.

We're surely agreed that such is more effective than simply sitting down, reading an appraisal to the employee and calling that 'performance management.'
