TIME/ENERGIES/WISDOM/SKILLS/CREATIVITY
Time is the first of five elements in my new definition of employee engagement. I distinguished the quantity of engagement and the quality of engagement in yesterday’s new definition. Lately I’ve been thinking about my definition of Employee Engagement.
Almost exactly 3 years ago–10/11/07–I offered my own definition for Employee Engagement.
I maintained then that employee engagement is
Investment of one’s body, mind, and spirit in one’s work.
Exceptional degree of emotional commitment that fuels the doing, thinking, and believing in one’s work.

Time, especially when we worry that we do not have enough, can hinder our engagement in the task(s) at
hand.
Rather than “time management,” I suggest building a creative relationship with time. Or, simply put, seeing time as neither an obstacle nor an opponent.
